Mustang with Manang Motorcycle Tour – 12 Days

After breakfast, we begin our first ride of the expedition, heading west from Kathmandu toward the historic hill town of Gorkha. Leaving the bustling capital behind, the route follows scenic highways, winding mountain roads, terraced farmlands, and traditional villages, providing a wonderful introduction to Nepal's diverse landscapes and rural way of life.

The journey offers spectacular views of rolling hills, river valleys, and distant Himalayan peaks. Along the way, we make several stops for refreshments, photography, and to appreciate the ever-changing scenery that unfolds throughout the ride.

Gorkha holds a special place in Nepal's history as the ancestral home of King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the founder of modern Nepal. Upon arrival, riders can explore the historic surroundings and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. The town's rich heritage and cultural significance make it one of the country's most fascinating destinations.

The remainder of the day is free to relax and prepare for the more adventurous mountain roads that lie ahead. The peaceful atmosphere of Gorkha offers a refreshing contrast to the busy streets of Kathmandu and provides an authentic glimpse into Nepal's cultural and historical legacy.

We begin the second day of our motorcycle adventure, riding from Gorkha toward the picturesque villages of Tal and Dharapani. As we leave the historic hill town behind, the route gradually enters the Annapurna region, following winding mountain roads alongside rivers, waterfalls, and lush hillsides.

The ride offers a captivating blend of natural beauty and cultural experiences. Passing through traditional settlements and scenic river valleys, we witness the changing landscapes that characterize Nepal's diverse terrain. The road follows sections of the Marshyangdi River, providing spectacular views of deep gorges, terraced fields, and surrounding mountain ridges.

Tal, one of the most beautiful villages along the Annapurna Circuit route, welcomes riders with its unique setting beside a broad river valley, surrounded by towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls. Continuing onward to Dharapani, we enter a region strongly influenced by Tibetan culture, where prayer flags, chortens, and traditional stone houses begin to dominate the landscape.

Upon arrival, there is time to relax, explore the village, and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere while preparing for the higher-altitude adventures that await in the days ahead.

After breakfast, we continue our journey deeper into the Annapurna region as we ride from Dharapani to the beautiful mountain settlement of Manang. Although today's distance is relatively short, the route offers some of the most spectacular scenery of the entire expedition.

The road climbs steadily through alpine forests, dramatic valleys, and traditional Himalayan villages. As we gain altitude, the landscape gradually transforms from lush greenery into the arid terrain characteristic of the trans-Himalayan region. Along the way, riders are treated to breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, including the magnificent Annapurna range and surrounding mountains.

Passing through charming settlements adorned with prayer flags, mani walls, and ancient monasteries, we experience the rich cultural heritage of the region. The influence of Tibetan Buddhism becomes increasingly evident as we approach Manang, a historic trading settlement that has served as an important crossroads between Nepal and Tibet for centuries.

Upon arrival in Manang, there is ample time to explore the village, interact with the local community, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan giants. The remainder of the day is reserved for rest and acclimatization as we prepare for the higher elevations that lie ahead.

After breakfast, we begin our descent from the high Himalayan settlement of Manang and ride toward Besisahar, the administrative headquarters of the Lamjung District. Today's journey retraces part of the Annapurna Circuit route, offering a different perspective of the spectacular landscapes we encountered on the ascent.

The ride takes us through dramatic mountain valleys, traditional villages, and dense forests, following the course of the Marshyangdi River. As we descend in altitude, the barren trans-Himalayan terrain gradually gives way to lush hillsides, terraced farmland, and subtropical vegetation. The ever-changing scenery creates an enjoyable and rewarding riding experience.

Along the route, we pass through picturesque settlements where local cultures and traditions remain deeply rooted. Numerous waterfalls, suspension bridges, and river gorges add to the beauty of the journey, while the surrounding mountain views continue to provide unforgettable photo opportunities.

Upon arrival in Besisahar, riders can relax and enjoy the comforts of the town after several days in the higher mountain regions. The evening is free to explore the local market area or simply unwind in preparation for the next stage of the expedition.

Today, we will enjoy a scenic journey of 106 km, taking approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes to reach Pokhara. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Later, enjoy a boat ride on Phewa Lake. The evening is at leisure, or you may take a stroll around Pokhara.

After breakfast in Pokhara, we continue our Himalayan motorcycle expedition, riding north toward the remote village of Kalopani. Leaving the serene lakeside city behind, the route gradually climbs into the Kali Gandaki Valley, one of the deepest gorges in the world.

The ride follows a scenic mountain highway, passing through lush hills, riverside settlements, and traditional villages. As we gain elevation, the landscape begins to transform, with subtropical greenery giving way to rugged cliffs, alpine terrain, and distant snow-capped peaks.

Along the way, we pass through key mountain towns such as Beni and Tatopani, known for their hot springs and vibrant local culture. The journey offers spectacular views of surrounding Himalayan giants, including glimpses of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges on clear days.

Kalopani, our destination for the day, is a peaceful mountain village surrounded by dense forests and dramatic peaks. It offers one of the best panoramic viewpoints in the region, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the Himalayas.

Depart from Kalopani and continue north through the upper reaches of the Kali Gandaki Valley, entering the high-altitude trans-Himalayan region within the Annapurna Conservation Area. The landscape gradually shifts into a dry, alpine desert environment as you gain elevation.

The route passes through traditional settlements including Marpha, Jomsom, and Kagbeni before making the final ascent to the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath.

Upon arrival at Muktinath Temple, proceed with a visit to the temple complex, an important spiritual destination for both Hindus and Buddhists.

After the temple visit, descend back to Jomsom for overnight stay and rest at high altitude.

Depart from Muktinath and begin a long downhill ride through the dramatic landscapes of the upper Kali Gandaki Valley.

The route descends through high-altitude terrain, passing key settlements such as Kagbeni, Jomsom, Marpha, and Ghasa before reaching the warmer river valley at Tatopani.

Along the way, enjoy stunning views of the Dhaulagiri Himal, as well as waterfalls and dramatic cliffside road sections near Ghasa. The ride offers a striking transition from alpine desert landscapes to lush green river valleys.

Arrive in Tatopani, check into your hotel, and unwind with a relaxing soak in the natural hot springs.

After breakfast, depart from Tatopani and ride south through the scenic hills and river valleys of western Nepal. Leaving behind the rugged Himalayan landscapes, the route gradually transitions into lush green countryside, passing traditional villages, terraced farmlands, and bustling local towns.

The journey follows a combination of mountain roads and highways, offering beautiful views of rivers, forests, and rural settlements. Along the way, enjoy the changing scenery as you travel toward the charming hilltop town of Bandipur.

Perched on a ridge above the Marsyangdi Valley, Bandipur is renowned for its well-preserved Newari architecture, pedestrian-friendly streets, and panoramic mountain vistas. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the evening exploring the town’s historic lanes and viewpoints.

After breakfast, depart from Bandipur and begin your final ride toward Kathmandu. Descend from the hilltop town to join the main highway, following a scenic route through rolling hills, river valleys, and rural settlements.

The journey traverses sections of the Prithvi Highway, one of Nepal’s most important road corridors, offering views of terraced farmlands, forested hillsides, and winding rivers that carve through the landscape. As you approach Kathmandu, the scenery gradually transitions from the peaceful countryside to the vibrant urban environment of Nepal’s capital city.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, check into your hotel and enjoy some free time to relax or explore the city's bustling streets, colorful markets, and cultural landmarks.

In the evening, gather for a special farewell dinner accompanied by a traditional Nepali cultural show, celebrating the successful completion of your Himalayan motorcycle adventure.

After breakfast, enjoy your remaining time in Kathmandu until your scheduled transfer to the airport. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for some last-minute shopping or sightseeing.

At the designated time, transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight.
